Until now, Huawei have mostly been focusing on fully-fledged smartwatches with the more traditional round display, or a stripped down, affordable fitness tracker with few traditional smartwatch features. Now it seems they are ready to launch a device to fill the gap in-between, called the Huawei Watch Fit.

It will have an interesting rectangular display, which is quite tall in the vertical. The display is said to be a 1.64-inch AMOLED panel with a 456 x 280 resolution. It will have a metal frame, to keep it feeling as high-quality as possible, which will come in a silver, gold or grey finish. It has a single slim, pill-shaped button on the right-hand side of the device.
From the leaks, we can see several interesting colour combinations when looking at the strap options. The straps will come in green, blackish grey, orange, and beige – all will be silicon.
Just like previous devices, the watch is likely to power with a new Kirin A1 wearable chipset and there’s still no information available about its software system. We’ll have to wait for more information, but their wearables have been running on Android Wear. Whether or not that will continue due to Huawei’s struggles with the US government remains to be seen.
According to the tipster, Sudhanshu Ambhore, the Huawei Watch Fit will be water resistant. Presumably it will have swim tracking as standard, in this case. It will have a heart rate monitor, accelerometer, ambient light, built-in GPS, and a barometer. Other tracking options includes walking, running, and cycling (indoor and outdoor), and will also have sleep tracking, stress tests, and breathing exercises.
The Huawei Watch Fit is said to be able to last 10 days on one charge, and is expected to sell for €119.
