Apple have taken the wraps off a new, updated MacBook, which brings faster Skylake processors, longer battery life, and a new Rose Gold colour option.
Apple have quietly unveiled an updated MacBook, which introduces a number of new improvements; most prominently, the new model includes Skylake Processors and a new Rose Gold colour option.
While we’ll quickly write off the latter as pink, the former sees the MacBook capable of clocking in at 1.3Ghz, and is complemented by new Intel HD Graphics 515 that, according to Apple. will deliver up to 25% faster performance.

The updated MacBook further includes an additional hour of battery life and faster 1866 MHz memory.
Beyond these tweaks, the company’s lightest notebook retains a 12″ display with a 2,304×1,440 resolution with a pixel density of 226 ppi. The model retains two storage configurations between 256GB and 512GB solid state drives.
The updated MacBook range is now available through Apple’s online store, and have begun to ship through Apple Authorized Resellers.
While there has been no clarity on local prices, the base model costs $1,299 USD, with the premium model costing $1,849 USD.
The standard MacBook has received the largest update in comparison to Apple’s other laptop models, with 8GB of memory becoming standard on all 13″ MacBook Air models.
We’ve found Apple’s smallest MacBook to be a difficult sell over its counterparts such as the Air and Pro, largely due to its use of a mobile processor in the form of the Intel Core M series.
The standard MacBook remains distinct for its ultra-portable nature and further its fanless design, which relies on a butterfly keyboard to minimize its profile.
