Microsoft officially launches the Lumia 650

Following months of speculation and rumour, Microsoft have launched the latest addition to their lineup of affordable devices: the Lumia 650.

Microsoft have consistently focused their Lumia lineup towards the lower end of the market, only recently introducing the flagship Lumia 950 and 950 XL. Now, the company has bolstered its ranks with a new contender – the Lumia 650.
The Lumia 650 steps in as the first business-focused Lumia, and is set to go on sale first in European markets on the 18th of February, and is expected to retail around the $199 USD mark.

The 5″ device includes an aluminum frame, and weighs in at a miniscule 122 grams while measuring in with a depth of 6.9mm.

Microsoft have opted for a new strategy with the Lumia 650, punting Apple-like ‘attention to detail’ and the ‘highest level of craftsmanship’. However, such design practices irritatingly impede the incorporation of a larger battery; the 650 will include a 2,000 mAh cell.
