This year’s new smart TVs boast enhanced visuals and sound, courtesy of Samsung’s advanced AI chipsets. Among the new offerings are Neo QLED 8K and 4K TVs, OLED TVs, and sound devices.

“We are expanding the limits of home entertainment by incorporating AI to transcend traditional viewing experiences. This year’s TV lineup showcases our dedication to innovation, delivering products that not only offer premium viewing quality but also significantly enrich our consumers’ lifestyles,” said Mike van Lier, VP of Consumer Electronics at Samsung South Africa.

The flagship model in the new lineup is the Neo QLED 8K TV, available in 65″, 75″, and 85″ sizes. It features Samsung’s latest NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, which includes a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that significantly increases neural networks from 64 to 512.

“With 8K AI Upscaling Pro, users’ favourite shows and movies are transformed to closely match the 8K display, allowing them to enjoy details and picture clarity that surpass conventional 4K TVs,” Samsung noted. “Additionally, AI Motion Enhancer Pro makes fast action smoother and clearer — a dream for sports fans — while Real Depth Enhancer Pro adds lifelike depth to the picture, pulling viewers into the scene every time. These features redefine the big screen experience.”

Samsung’s 4K Neo QLED smart TVs for 2024 also incorporate AI, powered by the NQ4 AI Gen2 processor. “Enhanced by Real Depth Enhancer Pro and Quantum Matrix Technology, the screen ensures impeccable contrast even in complex scenes. With the world’s first Pantone Validated display for colour accuracy and Dolby Atmos for an immersive audio experience, Neo QLED 4K sets the bar for the ultimate 4K UHD experience,” Samsung highlighted. The Neo QLED 4K models will be available in sizes ranging from 55 to 98 inches.

Most of the 2024 premium smart TV models are already available for purchase in South Africa, though the flagship QN900D is currently only available for pre-order, with no official pricing yet. The 65″ QN800D is priced at R69,999, indicating that the larger models will cost even more.
