During the Covid-19 pandemic, Vodacom, like many other companies, permitted remote work for employees as lockdown measures eased. Until recently, Vodacom allowed all eligible employees to work from home twice a week.
However, a recent decision requires senior managers and People Leaders to make the office their primary workplace and be present every workday, according to a spokesperson.
The rationale behind this shift lies in the complex business landscape characterized by various economic challenges. Vodacom believes that having leaders physically present fosters more effective collaboration, timely issue resolution, and swift execution of opportunities, ultimately driving the organization toward greater success.
Nonetheless, Vodacom maintains a hybrid working policy, allowing other employees to continue working from home twice weekly. Certain roles that necessitate physical presence to perform duties remain exempt from this policy.
The company aims to strike a balance between flexibility and collaboration while prioritizing the well-being of its staff members.
