Apple ready to launch a ‘flood’ of new devices

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is poised to launch a slew of new products between August 2022 and early 2023. Infamous Apple reporter Mark Gurman described it as a “deluge” of products, which includes the likes of four iPhone 14 devices, a set of new iPads, three Apple Watches, several M2 / M3-upgraded Macs, a pair of refreshed AirPods Pro buds, a new HomePod, and a spec-boosted Apple TV model.

At its World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) earlier in June, Apple already announced two new Macs with the M2 processor, but it will soon flow into several other products in the Apple line-up. This includes an M2 Mac mini, M2 Pro Mac mini, M2 Pro / M2 Max 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros, as well as an M2 Ultra / M2 Extreme Mac Pro. Then there is also the upcoming Apple AR headset, which is also rumoured to be running on the M2 chip. On a side note, Apple is already working on the M3 chip, so expect the successor to the just-released M2 sometime towards the latter half of 2023.

Then there is the iPhone 14 range, which should be the next devices the company announces. The iPhone range will drop the mini variant this year, as it only accounted for about 3 percent of total iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 sales. It will be replaced with a bigger iPhone 14 model rumoured to be at 6.7-inches. This means there will be four models – a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone 14, and similarly sized iPhone 14 Pro models. The base models are expected to stick with the 12MP camera sensor and the same old design with a notch up front.

In terms of iPads, Gurman’s report indicates that Apple will launch M2-equipped 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models later this year, in addition to a larger iPad between 14 and 15 inches coming in the “next year or two.”
