Apple has announced its iPhone 13 launch event

The launch of the iPhone 13 is around the corner – Apple has announced a “California Streaming” event on September 14th at 5PM GMT. The Cupertino company has sent out the invites for the event, although it doesn’t give us a lot of clues as what we can expect.

As is always the case, however, we have a very good idea of what we can expect at the launch event. First and foremost, as is the case every year at this event, the new iPhones will be the headliners. It is thought that Apple may only release two iPhones this year, most likely the Pro models, as the lesser models were sales disappointments (relative to Apple’s expectations). It won’t be a massive upgrade over the iPhone 12 from 2020 but will reportedly include a smaller notch and an always-on display that can run up to a smooth 120Hz.

There will also be improvements to all the of the cameras, although the hardware will be very similar to previous models. It will have improved ultra-wide sensors and more stabilisation. It is also thought to offer satellite communication capabilities for use in emergencies.

We also expect the Apple Watch Series 7 to launch alongside the iPhones, which will sport a redesigned casing that will be closer to the iPhone design language. The screen may be slightly larger than current models as well and will have improved performance and upgraded internal sensors.

There is a possibility of new iPad models as well, including a brand-new iPad Mini. Furthermore, there may be new AirPods as well, although there is very little information about them, so take it with a grain of salt.
