According to Facebook, it is a “fun and engaging way” to connect with friends and family. When you share your screen when on a Facebook Messenger video call, there are a multitude of things to share. You can share your camera roll while scrolling through it to show off your snaps, for example. You could peruse the internet together or go through a shopping cart in an online store. You could also share important confidential documents with each other without the need to email it.
The company will also be enhancing Messenger Rooms, it’s competitor to the likes of Zoom or Microsoft Teams. You can now share screen in Rooms with up to 16 people, which Facebook wants to bump up to 50 people in the months to come. It will also offer more control over who is able to share their screen in a Rooms meeting, which will solve the sharebombing issue we’ve seen on all the meeting room platforms.
How often do you use Messenger for video calls? Would you use the screen sharing feature? Let us know in the comments below.
