Following – and contrary to – rumours positing that Microsoft might be producing a Surface Phone to act as 2015’s Windows Phone flagship, popular leaker @evleaks has published a set of images which seemingly depict two brand new Lumia smartphones.
The leak falls into line with a rumour that circulated earlier this year; specifically, that Microsoft will introduce two new smartphones to serve as Windows Phone flagships by year end.
@evleaks images falls into line with recent news positing that Microsoft intends to launch two new Lumia devices this October; the leaked press render shoes what is expected to be the Lumia 950 (codename Talkman) and the 950 XL (codename Cityman).
Both handsets feature the Lumia-trademark protruding camera module, alongside a Microsoft logo. Both devices feature a mostly square aesthetic, though the Lumia 950 is the smaller handset of the two at 5.2″, and the 950 XL the larger at 5.7″.
The 950 XL is expected to arrived with a WQHD display and a 20 megapixel PureView camera with a triple LED flash. Additionally, the 950 XL is claimed to include support for Microsoft’s Surface Pen (possibly shedding light on earlier Surface Phone rumours) as well as a new smart cover with a cut-out for notifications access.
Both the 950 and 950 XL will apparently posses a USB Type-C port, as well as support for Qi wireless charging. The Lumia 950 will apparently carry a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, while the 950 XL will posses an octa-core Snapdragon 810. Both handsets will sport 3GBs of RAM.
According to German podcast OneCast, the 950 XL will support some form of accessory that will support the new Continuum feature of Windows 10 Mobile.
