As was rumoured, at this year‘s MWC conference in Barcelona, Samsung indeed unveiled two flagship devices. The first, of course, is highly anticipated Galaxy S6 ““ the latest iteration has seen only slight design changes (be sure to read about them here). But Samsung had the other flagship up their sleeves as well, with the launch of the Galaxy S6 Edge.
The Galaxy S6 Edge has pretty much the same design language as its sibling, with one distinct difference. The Edge has a curved display on both sides of the device (unlike the Galaxy Note Edge, which only had a curved display on the right).
It doesn‘t only distinguish the device in the looks department ““ the curved screen actually adds some functionality in the software (although at first glance, not much). The Edge display will pull neat tricks like using colour-coded illumination notifications to let you know who is calling.

The Galaxy S6 Edge is in many ways the same phone as its flat-screened namesake, but branches out in a few key areas. Its 5.1-inch quad HD OLED display stretches onto two sides, obviously, but that‘s just the start of what makes it distinct. Samsung is hooking the Edge up with a slightly larger battery than the GS6, with a 2600mAh component.
In all honesty, we think this device looks a lot better than its flat-screened brother. The Galaxy S6 design is really dated and it isn‘t the good looking device it was three years ago. At least the Edge tries to differentiate itself.
