You might ask who in their right mind would say that science is cool. Well, we here definitely think is can be ““ if delivered correctly. Science is a topic that a lot kids don‘t particularly enjoy, and who can blame them? Teachers rambling on and boring the living daylights out of everyone in class. That is the whole point of “˜Cosmos‘, a show to make the ordinary people excited and inspired to pursue a career in science. More than that, it is meant to entertain.
When I heard that the “˜Cosmos‘ series from the 1980‘s was being remade I immediately reacted with scepticism. I was certainly not the only one, as Carl Sagan‘s classic science series was revered the world over. It entertained and interested millions around the world, including yours truly.
Now, the new show has tried to capture the same magic using modern CGI effects. In the first episode, “œCosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey“ takes us on a dizzying journey from the Big Bang to the very edge of our observable Universe. It shows us how tiny and insignificant we are in the grander scheme of things, taking us from the tiniest particles to superclusters of galaxies.
It starts with Sagan‘s classic quote: “œThe cosmos is all that is, or ever was, or ever will be.“ Check out the trailer for the new series below:
