The tech world always wants great levels of innovation when new products are announced and released, but recently we have been going through a lull. Not much has changed in the last 12 months in terms of smartphones and its designs.
Rumours were abound that MWC would see us get 2K displays, great new Nokia Lumia smartphones, and interesting new cameras. Unfortunately, we didn‘t get any of that, rather getting a slew of reiterated products.
Nokia still hold the megapixel crown for smartphones, but that might very well change soon. The picture you see above was posted by Oppo, the Chinese smartphone maker, and in the filename it had the name of its upcoming flagship called the Oppo Find 7. The photo that was shared had a whopping resolution of 8160 × 6120 pixels, meaning it had to come from a 50MP camera.
Sure, the photo doesn‘t look immaculate or better than a lot of others produced by other smartphone cameras. But it is still a prototype device and this could be a shot only to test the technology. And sure, it is only a rumour which could have been planted by Oppo to increase hype about its latest flagship (which it has done), but imagine it is true.
The device will be announced on March 19th in Beijing, when we will definitely report back on the device. Do you think the rumours could be true?
