An Info-graphic look at the IMC Conference, Jhb

The 15th and 16th of October 2012 saw the 4th AnnualIMC Conference making waves in Sandton Johannesburg in what was described by one of the delegates as “œone of the most insightful and refreshing conferencing experiences“.
2 days, 250 delegates, 10 speakers, 16 workshops and 80 workshop sessions generated thousands of conversations and countless ideas. How does one encapsulate all these numbers and subsequent conversations in a simplified layout? We decided that the most concise and informative way to do this was by means of an infographic representation of all Twitter updates on the IMC Conference.
Trending nation-wide on Twitter for two consecutive days with 1,584,184 impressions, 173,835 accounts reached, 1,500 tweets and 214 contributors, one thing was clear: the industry was tuned in and paying attention.

Kick-starting Day 1 of the conference as the most-mentioned speaker was Melanie Minnaar of Multiplicity with 318 twitter mentions. Day 2 saw Cerebra‘s Melissa Attree taking pole position as the most mentioned speaker with 293 mentions. She also came out on top as the most popular username – @melattree. Following Melissa as the most popular usernames were @benwagner (Ben Wagner of NATIVE) and @stretchmike (Mike Silver of Stretch Experiential). The most referenced workshops included the likes of Strike Media, IBM and InMobi. Ben Wagner also had the most re-tweeted tweet: “œWhen you stand for something, you stand out“ ““ a statement that resonated with many of the delegates.
The year 2013 will see the IMC Conference expanding across the borders of South Africa to Nairobi, Kenya and London, UK.
