Facebook introduces 'action links' to interact with apps on Timeline

has recently announced that there is now a new way for users to interact with Timeline apps directly from Facebook. In addition to users ‘liking’ and ‘sharing’ content on the social networking site, Facebook has also introduced ‘action links’.
With action links, websites can now add more interactive features including customisable links to Timeline apps when their Open Graph stories appear, that lets users engage with their content in an even deeper way.
Some companies have already begun implementing this new feature. Along with the ability to like and share, foursquare has added a link to “Save This Place” when someone checks in and shares it on their Timeline. This “enables people to save a place to their foursquare to-do list directly from Facebook”. Website Fab.com has introduced a “Fave This Product” link which lets people add products to their favourites list on Fab.com.
“Action links tie one action to another, and can be part of any Open Graph story. Developers can designate an action link for any action they define, which will then appear throughout Facebook”, says Facebook software engineer Alex Wyler.
