You probably remember the scandal last year with the Belgian French-language newspapers that requested Google to remove their content from Google.be and Google News. They didn’t want money at the time and a court agreed that Google has to remove any headlines and links to their stories. Ironically, now they do.
For any sane webmaster, being featured on Google means power and obviously lots of traffic which gets monetized somehow, so in the end it means more money. But Copiepresse decided to get cash by suing Google for causing them damages from $51.7 million up to $77.5 million.
Could it be that Copiepresse finds it difficult to sell ads in their printed versions and their site(s) are not getting enough traffic to sell online ads? Will Copiepresse go bankrupt unless they don’t win this lawsuit where they want money? I’m dead serious about it and will keep a close eye on the subject to see the outcome.
