WhatsApp to introduce message threads for organising conversations

WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will group replies to specific messages into threads, streamlining conversation tracking.

Instead of scattered replies, users will see a dedicated view of all quoted messages linked to the original, simplifying navigation in lengthy and complex conversations.

The feature, discovered in WhatsApp’s Android beta 2.25.7.7 update by WABetaInfo, is currently under development and will be available in a future update. Message threads are expected to function in individual chats, group conversations, communities, and channels, though channel replies are also still in development.

A WABetaInfo screenshot reveals a full-screen pop-up displaying replies from multiple users in a group discussion. Tapping a quoted message shows all responses within that thread. However, the original message being replied to is not visible within the thread view.

The release date for message threads is currently unknown. WhatsApp has been contacted for further information.

This feature represents a significant improvement, particularly for users managing large group conversations or relying on search to find older replies.
