Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Mobile has surpassed one billion downloads worldwide, coinciding with the game’s fifth anniversary celebrations. Originally launched in 2019 for Android and iOS, the game reached an impressive 270 million downloads within its first year. Despite its success, Microsoft hinted in a filing to the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority regarding its Activision Blizzard acquisition that Call of Duty: Mobile “is expected to be phased out over time” following the release of Warzone Mobile.

Following this news, fans voiced concerns, prompting Activision to respond by affirming its commitment to Call of Duty: Mobile. The company reassured players that it has a “robust roadmap” for ongoing content updates and support but didn’t directly address Microsoft’s statement or provide a timeline for any potential phase-out. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile launched on March 21.
Today, November 6, at 5 PM Pacific/8 PM Eastern, CoD: Mobile is rolling out its Season 10 — 5th Anniversary update. The update includes a new Battle Royale map called “Krai,” set in a dense urban landscape at the base of the Ural Mountains. In Krai, each character can respawn once; if eliminated again, they’ll drop a scannable dog tag that must be retrieved by their squad for re-entry.
Players can also purchase new anniversary-themed passes, which include exclusive content such as operator skins, weapon blueprints, and calling cards.
