Hosting on Airbnb has become increasingly complex, with fluctuating demand, dynamic pricing, competitive markets, and challenging earnings management. To streamline the process, Airbnb has launched the Co-Host Network, allowing hosts to hire other experienced hosts for property management.

Through this new network, property owners can browse a selection of qualified hosts who can assist with tasks such as listing setup, pricing and availability management, cleaning, maintenance, and guest communication. Essentially, it’s a modern take on property management, bringing a fresh twist to the industry.
These hired hosts must be highly rated and local to ensure quality and reliability; Airbnb has included only hosts with ratings of 4.8 or higher and a minimum of ten stays. Potential co-hosts can set their own service fees on profile pages, making it a flexible gig. Over 10,000 people across countries like Australia, Brazil, France, Mexico, and the US have already joined the network.
According to Judson Coplan, Airbnb’s VP of Product Marketing, hosts were asking for an easy way to find trustworthy, professional co-hosts with strong records in their local areas. This feature aims to offer a completely hands-off solution for property owners needing extra support.
While beneficial for everyday hosts, the “hands-off” appeal might also attract large real estate firms managing numerous properties on the platform. Although this could provide guests with consistent, reliable options, it may contribute to concerns that Airbnb facilitates neighbourhood disruption and housing shortages by increasing short-term rentals.
The Co-Host Network offers income opportunities for local hosts while supporting the platform’s evolving needs. Airbnb has also rolled out several other new features, such as tools for hosts to compare local listings and an introductory tour in the app for first-time guests. Updates include refined search filters, local payment options, and more flexible features for both hosts and guests.
Earlier this year, Airbnb expanded its initiatives for hosts, including discounted EV chargers and smart lock code display in the app, demonstrating the platform’s ongoing commitment to refining its services for a smoother hosting and guest experience.
