Developing the Momentum Sport took over three years of meticulous work, merging fitness technology with Sennheiser’s renowned sound quality. Equipped with a photoplethysmography (PPG) heart rate sensor and a body temperature sensor, these earbuds deliver workout biometrics to compatible apps like Apple Health, Garmin Connect, Strava, Peloton, and Polar Flow. Notably, the Momentum Sport marks the first instance where a non-Polar product can leverage Flow’s data analytics for real-time insights. Additionally, the earbuds seamlessly integrate with the Polar Vantage V3 watch, allowing for training audio (Smart Coaching) to be transmitted from the app to the earbuds.

During a live demo, Sennheiser showcased the integration of the Momentum Sport earbuds with the Polar Vantage V3 watch and app, demonstrating real-time biometric data transmission from a Peloton workout. The collaboration between Sennheiser and Polar ensures a seamless user experience across both devices, eliminating the need for Sennheiser to develop its fitness app.

Sennheiser has engineered the Momentum Sport with a new 10mm transducer to deliver vibrant sound and impressive bass suitable for workouts. The inclusion of an acoustic relief channel helps alleviate the occlusion effect and reduces distracting noises like breathing and footstep sounds during exercise sessions.

The semi-open design of the Momentum Sport allows for natural environmental sounds to filter in, while transparency mode offers full awareness when desired. Active noise cancellation (ANC) and an anti-wind mode cater to various environments, complemented by an IP55 rating for moisture and dust resistance. The earbuds feature a shock-proof construction and clog-resistant ear tips to prevent wax buildup, with the IP54-rated charging case supporting wireless charging.

Sennheiser promises up to six hours of battery life on the Momentum Sport, complemented by three additional charges in the case. A quick 10-minute charge provides 45 minutes of usage. Users can further customize their experience using the Smart Control app, adjusting sound profiles and settings to their preference. The earbuds come with a selection of ear tips and fins to ensure a comfortable and secure fit for every user.
