Samsung’s Unpacked event is making an early appearance this year, scheduled for January 17. Traditionally, these events unfold in the first week of February, making this a notable deviation, especially in close proximity to CES 2024. The venue for this in-person event is the SAP Center in San Jose, with a simultaneous live stream accessible through Samsung’s various channels, including YouTube.

Given Samsung’s track record, the company has kept mum on specifics regarding this year’s Unpacked. However, speculations are rife that the unveiling will feature the much-anticipated Galaxy S24 flagship smartphone series, likely accompanied by immediate pre-order availability post-event. Samsung has already initiated a “pre-reserve” program, allowing users to register their names and email addresses for early pre-orders, the details of which will be disclosed on January 17. Notably, this commitment-free initiative even includes a $50 credit towards upcoming Samsung devices, a successful strategy the company employed last year.
Reflecting on the previous year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S23 line, with the Galaxy S23 and S23+ presenting as minor refreshes. With this pattern in mind, expectations are high for the Galaxy S24 to bring a more elevated experience. In 2022, Samsung revealed the Galaxy S22 smartphone series at Unpacked, maintaining a consistent tradition much like Apple’s September iPhone announcements.
However, Unpacked presentations are not solely dedicated to Galaxy S smartphones. Samsung often takes the opportunity to announce new iterations of laptops during the initial Unpacked event each year, suggesting the potential unveiling of the Galaxy Book4 or a similar device.
