The iPhone 15 will finally have fast charging

Get ready for the iPhone 15 series from Apple, coming next month with some cool upgrades. The big news is that they’re ditching the Lightning port in favour of the USB-C port. We’ve already heard a bunch about what the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro will bring, but now there’s a juicy report hinting at faster charging speeds for these new models.

Rumour has it that “at least some” of the iPhone 15 versions will support super-fast charging at up to 35W. That’s a bump up from the current iPhone 14 Pro models, which max out at 27W for quick charging. Even the regular iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are limited to 20W. So, if this report pans out, the new iPhones might charge up around 30% faster, meaning less time waiting for your phone to juice up. Right now, it takes about two hours to fully charge the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Now, these speeds might not be as crazy fast as some of the top Android phones, like the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but it’s still exciting to see Apple stepping up their charging game. They’re already offering a 35W dual USB-C port charger, which should work great to charge the new iPhones at full throttle. Of course, there are also some awesome GaN chargers out there if you want the best of the best.

The big question is whether this speedy charging feature will only be for the iPhone 15 Pro models or for all the new ones. We also heard whispers that the iPhone 15’s USB-C port might support Thunderbolt for super-fast data transfers. And there’s even more buzz about the iPhone 15 Pro series, like sleeker display bezels, a tougher titanium build, a new Action Button, and rumors of a periscope zoom lens for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Luckily, we don’t have to wait long to find out all the details. Apple’s set to show off the iPhone 15 series real soon!
