Since it launched in March 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone has become one of the most popular battle royale games in the world. It quickly grew and has been able to retain players much better than most games in the genre. Many have been awaiting the launch of its first new map for the main battle royale experience but will need to wait a bit longer. The new Call of Duty: Warzone map, called Pacific, has been delayed until December 8th, as has season one of Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Activision hasn’t given any details regarding why it has been delayed, but is may have something to do with the bombshell report from The Wall Street Journal about CEO Bobby Kotick, who reportedly had a big role that may have led to the creation of the toxic “frat boy” culture that has seen the company in the news frequently in recent months.
Call of Duty: Vanguard was released on November 5th, in the usual yearly COD release slot. It already includes the usual plethora of maps and game modes, but the season one update is set to bring more new maps and modes, including an update to the game’s Zombies mode and the addition of new gear and weapons for players to earn.
Update: Season 1 of #Vanguard and Warzone Pacific will now release Dec. 8.

For most in the community the new Warzone map update is the most anticipated change. Set in the Pacific, the new map is called Caldera. Customers that have purchased Call of Duty: Vanguard will get access to the new map 24 hours before it rolls out to the free-to-play community.
Since the WSJ report, the company has been standing behind its CEO and called most of the report and backlash hearsay. It remains to be seen how the situation plays out in one of the biggest gaming companies in the world.
