Sony is busy testing a new feature that will allow you to share screenshots and videos captured on the PlayStation 5 with the PlayStation app, the company announced. It is currently being tested in Canada and Japan and is available to all PS5 users in these markets, available as part of a “limited-release beta.”

Once the software has been updated and installed, any new captures from the console will appear on the app. “Video clips and screenshots of games are available in [the PlayStation app] for 14 days after you manually create them on your PS5 console,” Sony says in an FAQ. You won’t need a PlayStation Plus membership to use the feature.
While clips can be recorded at native resolution on the console itself, they can only have a resolution of up to 1920×1080 to appear in the app. The higher resolution clips will still be available on the PS5. Also, if you have deleted a clip form the console it will still be available and accessible on the PlayStation app.
