New rumours claim that Samsung may not launch a new Galaxy Note series in 2021. This is, reportedly, to focus on their foldable phones in latter half of the year.

For several years now the Galaxy Note series hasn’t been the all-out flagship offering the latest and greatest the company can offer. It has offered basically the same as the Galaxy S series, with the addition of a bigger display and an S Pen. For quite some time we have argued that we don’t need the Galaxy Note anymore, and it seems Samsung finally agrees.
This news comes mere days after we learned that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will support the S Pen, a clear indication that the Ultra version of the Galaxy S flagship range will effectively before the Note of the range. The S21 Ultra will not come with the S Pen out of the box, though, and neither will it have a slot in the device itself.
Over the last several months we have also learned that the 2021 version of the foldable flagship, the Galaxy Fold 3, will also support the S Pen (and perhaps even house it in the chassis) – a further death nail for the Note series.
The infamous Samsung leaker, Max Weinbach, has also shared the list of flagship devices we can expect from Samsung in 2021 and of course, there is no Note 21.

It may be have been a long time coming, but it will still be sad to see such an Android mainstay bidding the world goodbye. To this day, my first three Android phones are still my favourites of all time, because of how different they were at that point in time. The HTC Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy Note and then the Galaxy Nexus. The Nexus One was the first of a brave new world, the Galaxy Nexus showed me what Android was supposed to be, but the Samsung Galaxy Note showed me what Android smartphones COULD be.
