Just when you thought you’ve last of Apple in 2020 they decide to hold a third online live event. On November 10th the company will be holding an event called “One More Thing,” appropriately. With the new iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch and iOS already having had their day in the sun it is thought that this event will focus on Mac.

Most notably, we are expecting a first look of the first Mac devices running on Apple’s own silicon. Apple famously broke their partnership with Intel recently, deciding to use a new internally designed architecture to power the new line of Macs and Macbooks.
This strategy has proved extremely successful with the iPhone and iPad, of course, with the A14 Bionic chip in the latest hardware proving to have impressive performance. There is no reason the same success can’t be achieved with the Mac line. A major advantage of running its own chipsets is that Apple can more tightly integrate the performance between hardware and software, something the iPhone has mastered.

According to Apple, they expect this split from Intel to take about two years. They have also promised to keep supporting Mac hardware running on Intel architecture for many years to come.
The have also shared an AR teaser included in their invitations for the event which clearly depicts the Apple logo rising up towards you like it would when you open an Apple laptop.
This is super cool. The Apple event logo in AR resembles opening and closing a MacBook.

This decision didn’t come easily to Apple. It was made for the same reasons it initially decided upon Intel chips back in 2005. It says it can get better performance with lower power consumption from its own Arm-based efforts than it can with Intel’s processors.
If there are any other surprises that show up at the event, we will be sure to report. Stay tuned for the latest from Apple next week.
