New reports claim the Samsung Galaxy S21 (or S30 – the naming isn’t known yet) will launch earlier in 2021. Renders of the upcoming device have also surfaced.

We are only months away from the launch of the new Galaxy S flagship, according to reports, with it expected in January 2021 already. This is in stark contrast to the normal March launch window we have seen for years from Samsung. It could be in response to the decrease in smartphone shipments in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to notoriously reliable tech leaker @OnLeaks, the standard Galaxy S21 will have 6.2-inch OLED display with a hole-punch front-facing camera. It seems that this time around it will revert to a flat display, rather than the ever-shrinking trend of waterfall- or infinity edge display. The smartphone industry is moving back to flat screens as the aesthetic gains from a curved one doesn’t outweigh the usability deficits (accidental edge touches, etc.).
There will also be a Galaxy S21 Ultra again, which will still garner the curved display at a size of about 6.9-inches. We don’t yet have any other details in terms of internal specs and hardware. There is also a Galaxy S21 Plus expected at the same time, although we don’t have any reliable leaks of it at this time.
A major change next year will be with the Galaxy S21 Ultra. According to the leaks, it will come with a dedicated S-Pen in the box (usually reserved for the Galaxy Note range). That being said, the device itself won’t have a dedicated slot for the S-Pen, however.
The Ultra appears to have an extremely large camera bump, as has been the case with the S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra devices. It may include up to four camera lenses, which will most likely be a main wide-angle lens, an ultra-wide lens, a telephoto lens and finally a periscope lens.
