Following its widely reported split from Google Mobile Services, Huawei continues to do the most in seeking to add to its AppGallery and ecosystem withdiscover.film being the latest edition. Currently the leading streaming platform for quality short movies and entertainment, discover.film has been chosen by Huawei to be the company’s short-form content provider for its video platform, Huawei Video.

Set to be available on over 100 million handsets globally, the discover.film app will be pre-installed and integrated into the Huawei Video app. Huawei has added that it will look at launching the app as an ‘ad-based video on demand (AVOD) app with a strong monetisation solution of its video inventory’. There will also be a subscription video on demand (SVOD) option that will be introduced later this year and it only will be available for customers who choose an ad-free experience.

Well, discover.film is a ‘freemium platform that has amassed subscribers from more than 190 countries since its launch in October 2019. discover.film hosts quality short movies, typically between 10-15 minutes in duration, featuring the world’s biggest movie stars and emerging talent across all genres and languages; from feel-good comedies to drama, sci-fi, documentaries and action.’
