Governments around the world are tinkering with the idea of have a Space Force of sorts as part of its security departments. France have already announced their Space Force, which will reportedly add guns and lasers to the satellites they put in orbit for defence purposes. The United States also recently announced their version of the idea, with few details, but they have now unveiled the official emblem and motto.

The Air Force Space Command has now been rebranded as its own military agency, rather than being a part of the larger USAF. The logo, as we saw before with the seal, looks to be highly inspired by the Star Trek logo, but that is for good reason.
The Delta Symbol has been in use since 1961 by the Air Force’s department, and this image explains the various elements that reference the military branches, rockets launching and its “core values.” As far as the motto, it’s “Semper Supra,” which means “Always Above.”
Trump has been trying to get it off the ground, so to speak, for a long time, saying “space is a warfighting domain just like the land, air and sea.” He admitted at the time that he initially floated the idea as a joke and then thought “what a great idea.”
When formed, the Space Force would join the Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Army and Coast Guard as a branch of the military. The Air Force currently has a Space Command division that oversees space-based military operations, which will cease to exist.
“We are going to have the Air Force and we’re going to have the Space Force, separate but equal,” Trump said. “It is going to be something, so important.”
