Apple's App Store crushes the Google Play Store with twice as much revenue

Apple’s latest financial report reveals that the iOS App Store has grown to 2.2 million apps and is achieving twice the revenue of the Google Play Store.

Things are good for Apple CEO Tim Cook; the Cupertino Company recently revealed is Q1 2017 earnings report to reveal that the firm had established a record revenue, and now reports have illustrated that the iOS App Store is moving from strength to strength.
Of course, one major feather in Apple’s cap is the fact that the iOS App Store now plays host to a reported figure of 2.2 million apps; another – and perhaps more important bragging right – is that the iOS App Store is achieving twice the revenue made on its biggest rival, the Google Play Store.

The news is supported by the fact that one of Apple’s most rapidly growing divisions is its Services branch, in which the likes of the App Store, Apple Pay, Apple Music and iCloud are housed.
Apple’s Services category cumulatively raked in $7.17 billion USD in the first quarter of 2017, which is roughly one-tenth of Apple’s total business for the quarter.
While there are undoubtedly far more users present on Google’s Play Store – thanks to the large proliferation of Android around the globe – the propensity to spend on both apps and in-app purchases is far higher on Apple’s platform. That equation is likely not helped by the ability of Android users to easily side-load apps.
Considering the growth seen thanks to Apple’s introduction of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and the less pricey iPhone SE, it would seem as if Apple’s iOS App Store will only continue raking in cash for the company.
