Coca-Cola unveil the Selfie Bottle – a new way to take a snap on-the-go

As part of its new Summer Love campaign, Coca-Cola have debuted the Selfie Bottle; a connected gadget which takes a picture when its user takes a sip of coke.

One hundred years from now, we’ll debut our vintage Coca-Cola merchandise to our grandchildren. In amongst a litany of cans, bottles, and other periphery will sit the Selfie Bottle; a connected device which took selfies of its owner whenever they raised up a can of coke to take a sip.
Rewinding to the present, that’s the idea, at least: As part of its Summer Love campaign which centers around the branded outdoor event in Israel of the same name, the Selfie Bottle is a specially designed bottle engineered to take a selfie of its user whenever they raise a glass to take a sip.

The captured images are then uploaded to a user’s Snapchat account as well as Coca-Cola Israel’s Facebook page, and finally the brand’s Instagram page. During the event, users tagged themselves on social media – subsequently raising the profile of the whole affair.
The concept follows suit from a number of connected gadgets which have shipped alongside beverages and takeaway orders this year; American alcoholic beverage brand Budweiser introduced a carry-case which doubled as a VR headset, while KFC introduced the Watt-A-Box cardboard container in India which doubles as a smartphone charger.
One of our favourite creations came from Pizza Hut, which debuted a playable DJ rig constructed out of a pizza box.
