Motorola launches the Moto Z with Moto Mods in South Africa

Motorola has officially re-launched in South Africa, bringing with it its modular flagship, the Moto Z, with accompanying Moto Mods.

Look who’s back: Lenovo has officially relaunched the Motorola brand in South Africa, and has released its modular flagship, the Moto Z, on our shores.
Available from the 1st of November from both Takealot and Cellucity, the Moto Z will further be available from Dion Wired on the 13th of November.

Of course, a modular smartphone isn’t terribly appealing without accessories; to that end, the Moto Z will be accompanied by a style shell, while the Insta-Share Projector Mod, Incipio offGrid Power Pack Mod, JBL SoundBoost Mod, and Hasselblad True Zoom Mod will sell separately.
The Moto Z with an accompanying style shell will retail for R12,999 ZAR. Further, the Instashare Projector Mod – which serves as a miniature smartphone projector – will retail for R4,699 ZAR.
The Incipio offGrid Power Pack Mod, which provides up to 22 hours of extra battery life, will retail for R1,199. The JBL SoundBoost speaker Mod will sell for R16,99 ZAR, while photography enthusiasts can pick up the Hasselblad-made True Zoom Mod for R4,299 ZAR.
With the Moto Z, consumers can expect to get a flagship Android smartphone that measures in just 5.19mm thick and sports USB Type-C support. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB or RAM, microSD support for up to 2TB, 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel camera duo and a fingerprint scanner rounds out the package.
