Panasonic has revealed its new smart mirror, which is capable of identifying areas of a human face that are in need of cosmetic treatment.
If you usually look into your mirror and think my God (as I do before my morning cup of tea) you’ll want to know about Panasonic’s latest creation -a smart mirror which is capable of not only identifying flaws in a human face, but can help fix them.
Panasonic’s mirror scans a human face and can determine areas that need cosmetic help – and if that wasn’t enough, the device can actually print a combination of pad foundation and concealer to hide pores or other blemishes.

The device is a result of Panasonic’s continuing investment into it’s Beauty department, where the firm has begun carving a niche not yet occupied by many market leaders – beauty technology. The firm’s smart mirror, which remains in the prototype phase, was on display as part of the company’s Concept Series of devices at the Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) showcase in Japan this year.
Thus far, the system isn’t quite an instant application. While the machine’s printer is capable of churning out makeup in two minutes, the company cites that patches require a day to dry and settle before it can be applied to a person’s face – making this something you’ll want to use to prepare for a big night out rather than a quick trip down to the shops.
Still, the concept remains a decidedly futuristic development right out of our science fiction dreams – we’re just not sure we’re ready to have our imperfections handed to us upon rolling out of bed.
