An Xbox modder has created the Xbook One; an Xbox One S converted into a briefcase-size gaming laptop which can be used portably.
One of the reasons you might feel compelled to buy a console over the likes of a heavy-duty gaming laptop is due to price. However, Xbox modder Edward Zarick reckons we can have both with the Xbook One S; an Xbox One S converted into a briefcase-size laptop.
The Xbook One S is a reconfigured Xbox One S, with a 720p display attached. Zarick built the new model from scratch, which would feasibly enable any Xbox enthusiast to play their favourite games on the go – though you’ll soon be able to do that on Windows, too.

Zarick describes the Xbook One’s case as “sturdy, not rugged” – it was laser-cut from acrylic and features 3D printed parts. Internally, the unit is an Xbox One S which Zarick cites has “not been altered in any way” – though, nonetheless, the console’s warranty is null and void.
The Xbook One S is actually available to purchase; the console (or is that laptop) arrives in both black and white and is available in both 500GB and 1TB offerings; both versions retail for $1495 USD and $1545 USD.
While most of us are quite comfortable connecting our Xbox consoles to a television or monitor of choice, you have to respect Zarick’s ingenuity – though we cant’ say we’d like to take this aboard a long-haul flight.
