LG has launched its new Action Cam LTE; it’s first all-action camera which will function as an accessory to its flagship G5 smartphone.
If you thought LG had any plans on abandoning its Friends lineup – the range of accessories which supplement the firm’s flagship, the modular LG G5 – think again. The company has now released the Action Cam LTE; a GoPro competitor with, as its name implies, built in LTE connectivity.
The Action Cam LTE arrives with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor running the show, and further bears an IP67 rating meaning that it can survive in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes in addition to being dust and sand-proof.

This is a camera which would well sway GoPro fanatics; arriving with a 12.3-megapixel camera and a 150 degree wide-angle lens, the Action Cam LTE is replete with the ability to record video at 4K resolution at 30FPS, and 1080p at 30-60FPS. If you’re all about a smooth frame rate, you can even record 720p video at 30-120FPS.
The Action Cam LTE doesn’t have to be limited to BMX biking or spontaneous abseiling. Instead of using this to record your adventures while playing Pokemon Go, you can instead leave it at home to serve as a dedicated CCTV camera for home monitoring. A MicroSD slot can accommodate up to 2TB of storage in addition to 4GB of internal storage.
Thankfully, the Action Cam LTE won’t be limited to users who’ve bought the LG G5; the device can be paired with other smartphones through a dedicated app.
