New reports suggest that Microsoft could be readying a new Lumia 650 to supplement the Lumia 950 and 950 XL
While Microsoft may have hit the ground running with the desktop release of Windows 10, the Redmond giant hasn’t had the same success with Windows 10 Mobile, with only two flagship devices – the Lumia 950 and 950 XL – released so far. Now, the company could be set to release a follow-up in the form of a Lumia 650.
A new rumour from Windows Central cites that the Lumia 650 will join the ranks of Windows Phone on the 1st of February without much fanfare.

The Lumia 650 is expected to release with a 5-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 210 or 212 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board storage. The device will be supplemented by an 8 megapixel primary and 5 megapixel secondary camera respectively.
The most interesting aspect of the report suggests that the 650 could be the last Lumia, as the 750 and 850 “Honjo” series have been cancelled in favour of a Surface Phone which could release in the near future.
With the news that Microsoft is rapidly developing bridges to allow developers to easily port iOS and Android apps, the future of the Windows Phone line looks to be in flux.
