Apple set to break sales record with new iPhone 6S range

Rewind to this time last year and Apple was setting sales records with their latest smartphones the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The company moved over 10 million devices over the first weekend alone and had their hands full with keeping up with demand. Now, after the introduction of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus Apple is preparing to break those records.
Pre-orders have opened in the US, ahead of retail availability on September 25, and to hear Apple tell it – this year could prove to be even bigger for the company‘s first-weekend smartphone sales than last year. Whilst analysts are hard at work crunching numbers, Apple calls consumer interest “œextremely positive,“ and cites “œvery strong“ global pre-orders this past weekend. That‘s enough for Apple to go official with its belief that it‘s “œon pace to beat last year‘s 10 million unit first-weekend record when the new iPhones go on sale Sept. 25″ – according to a CNBC report.
Although the high demand isn’t unexpected it will be interesting to see just how far the new iPhones manage to outperform last year‘s models at retail. The new “S” range has an additional color to choose from (rose gold – which is proving to be extremely popular) and as with last year’s range there is two sizes (with multiple storage capacities) to choose from.
