LG launches the G Pad 2 10.1"

LG announced a new addition to its tablet lineup this morning in the form of the G Pad 2 10.1 – a more premium version of the second generation 8″ G Pad the company launched for the South Korean a few weeks previously.
The new G Pad 2 – despite its unflattering moniker – arrives with several improvements over its sibling; the tablet arrives with a 10.1″ display with a resolution of 1920×1200 display accompanied by a 2.26Ghz Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GBs of RAM.
Internally, the new G Pad 2 brings a meek 16GB of internal memory (which LG has confirmed will be expandable up to a presently unknown value via a MicroSD card) and will carry a 5 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front-facing camera.
With the launch of a new G Pad 2, LG appear to be aiming for a productivity market its tablets – up until now – have traditionally avoided.
The 10.1″ G Pad 2 arrives in a far sleeker form factor, and brings a number of productivity-focussed software tools; including an e-reader mode which reduced blue light output, and a multitasking feature which allows users to run two apps side-by-side.

Further, each G Pad 2 will be preloaded with Microsoft Office for Android, and is bundled with 100GB of OneDrive storage for two years. Similarily, LG are offering 100GB of Google Drive storage for purchasers of the LG G4 Beat.
While LG hasn’t revealed set pricing or an exact launch date, the company has confirmed that the 10.1″ G-Pad will be available in both North America and Europe in LTE and WiFi variations. Further, the company have also promised that the new 10.1″ G-Pad 2 won’t be sold for a higher price than its predecessor, which retailed for just under $250 USD.
