We are eagerly anticipating any concrete details from Motorola about when we can expect the new Moto 360 to be released. Some new regulatory documentation gives us tangible evidence that we can expect more than one model of the smartwatch when that day comes.
Documents filed to Brazilian telecoms agency Anatel show two Motorola products with the model numbers “360S” and “360L” have been submitted to the agency. This agency examines and approves all radio-equipped products before they can be sold in Brazil.
It would make sense if the extra letters indicated two different sizes, as the pair are reportedly listed with 270mAh and 375mAh batteries respectively (compared to 320mAh of the original Moto 360). It wouldn‘t be surprising if Motorola were to follow this route. There are very few smartwatches out there that cater for the more petite, female wrist, and it seems crazy that most smartwatch manufacturers have ignored half of the possible marketplace.
Of course, Apple also released two size variants of the Apple Watch, which would naturally lead to more companies following suit. The Apple Watches come in 38mm and 42mm variants.
Given we’ve just had a new line of Moto phones, and a leak depicting what the new Moto 360 could look like, we suspect it won’t be too long before Motorola unwraps its seemingly inevitable new Moto 360 too.
