2015 will be a big year for Microsoft. This statement has been reiterated within most presentations at the company’s annual Build developers conference. They have been working hard to gain customer feedback for all major products that are scheduled for a launch later this year.
Microsoft has already pushed Windows 10 technical previews alongside the Windows 10 mobile previews over the past couple of months. Now its time for another major Microsoft service to show us what it has up its sleeve…
The Microsoft Office 2016 preview is now officially been released. After a few rounds of developer previews, the company is now ready to take things further with regular consumers. Microsoft released this statement:
“œIn March we introduced an IT Pro and Developer Preview for the 2016 release of our Office desktop apps on Windows, and now“”as a next step“”we‘re ready to take feedback from a broader audience. Today we‘re expanding the Office 2016 Preview, making it available to Office users everywhere in preparation for general availability in Fall 2015.
Office 2016 previewers will get an early look at the next release of Office on Windows desktop, but more importantly they‘ll help to shape and improve the future of Office. Visit the Office 2016 Preview site to learn more about the Preview program and if it‘s right for you.“
Initial changes aren’t just restricted to visual differences. Real-time collaboration no longer requires Office Online to work, as these features are now built in to Office 2016 as an out of the box offering. The preview release refers to the desktop version of Office 2016. You can get more information and try out the preview on Microsoft’s site.
