If you get the same nostalgia thinking about the first two Age of Empires games as we do, you grew up a golden age of real time strategy games. We spent countless hours building and destroying walls, decimating enemy armies and gathering those precious resources which made it all possible.
Microsoft has listed job advertisements for software programmers to work on “œthe next instalment in a beloved strategy game franchise.“ Not only that, but they will be joining Decisive Games if their application is successful, where they will be busy with world class strategy game development.
This firmly puts Age of Empires as the favourite to get a sequel (or remake?) as Microsoft‘s other two strategy licences doesn‘t have nearly as much traction, i.e. Rise of Nations and Halo Wars.
Are you looking forward to your monks turning enemy troops into one of your own again? We certainly are, and will deliver updates as soon as there are any.
