Current hearing aids are mostly useful in environments where there isn‘t a lot of noise pollution, as it simply amplifies all noise around the subject. Siemens want to change that with a new “˜smart‘ hearing aid. It will be connected to a smartphone in order for you to point the microphone of your device in the direction of the sound you want to pick up.
Siemens says the tech has been “clinically proven to outperform people with normal hearing in background noise.” According to the company the device will work with both iOS and Android devices.
The device will be able to act independently of your smartphone, but it will of course work better in conjunction with your trusty gadget.
The exact prices and model numbers have yet to be revealed, but we are sure to get more information from CES 2015 this week.
