The largest complaint people have with smartphones these days, according to a recent survey, is battery life. Of course, the technology might not be there as of yet to offer better battery life at a reasonable price. MIDIA think they have cracked it.
Well, sort of. The MIDIA InkPhone is a new e-reader that also functions as a smartphone. The MIDIA InkPhone is an Onyx manufactured device, a company that situated in Poland. You will be able to read all your e-books, but it can also deliver some of the functionality that your smartphone can. While you won‘t find the beautiful vivid display we find on most modern smartphones, you will have a smartphone that will reportedly last almost two weeks on a single charge.
Underneath the hood, it will run on a RockChip processor alongside a small amount of RAM on board. It only has 4GB of internal storage, but you also have a microSD card for expansion. It is launching in Poland and Germany this month, with further launches to follow. It will be sold for 140 euro. This 4.3-inch display device will definitely be a niche product, but perhaps it will lead to more advances in smartphone batteries.
