Don't fancy a Smart Watch? Try this Smart Ring

If a smart watch isn‘t really your thing or you feel that the large, bright gadget clashes with your outfit – perhaps a smaller, smart ring is more up your alley.
Introducing Smarty Ring; it has the same concept as a smart watch, except it is in a ring form. More compact, smaller and not as in-your-face as the watch option.
The Smarty Ring basically works the same as any new smart watch would, except with less features and a smaller body. This ring is a Bluetooth enabled gadget that connects to your smartphone.
This does mean, however, that your Bluetooth must be turned on all the time. Also, you would have to have Bluetooth 4.0 installed on your smartphone.
Smarty Ring allows it‘s wearers to check your smartphone alerts from your finger. The ring will notify you of incoming and outgoing calls, alert you when you receive a SMS or email and will also give you real time updates from various social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Hangouts and Skype.
It can accept and reject incoming calls as well as make calls to preset numbers.
The ring also doubles up as a watch (so no need for a smart watch, too then) a timer and a phone finder. Should you walk away from your phone, the ring will notify you after 9 meters that you have left your phone. So you will never forget your phone at home – or wherever you find yourself.
Popular smartphone options, such as using a camera or changing your music, can also be triggered with the ring. Tired of a song? Simply press a small button on the ring. Do you want to take a better selfie? Trigger your camera from the ring.

Smarty Ring works in conjunction with a mobile app. You can manage the ring settings from the app, that is compatible with iOS and Android.
The battery life of smarty Ring is rather impressive too; it claims to be 24-hours and comes with a free wireless charger that will charge your ring as well as your smartphone at the same time.
The ring itself is made from allergen free, stainless steel and is a sleek, unisex design. Making it perfect to wear for both men and women.
Smarty Ring currently has a campaign on crowd funding platform, Indiegogo. Although, the campaign is not doing as well as he creators hoped for. Out of a goal of $40 000, the Smarty Ring has raised $9,545 to date, with 70 hours of the campaign remaining.
The idea of a smart ring is not that innovative – we were expecting something like this after the launch of the various smart watches as of late. However, being smaller and more compact, I would much rather wear a smart ring than a smart watch. And it would definitely  not clash with any of my outfits.
