Yahoo Inc. has definitely got a woman worth gold leading their team. After appointing a new CEO in July 2012, Yahoo now has a reported 800 million users worldwide.
Marissa Mayer is the woman with the Midas touch it seems. Mayers, who is a former Google executive, was lured away by Yahoo to give them a hand at a massive turn around.
It can be said that Mayer‘s contribution to Yahoo has given them the 20% increase in users they can now boast about.
However, there might even be more than 800 million users. Mayer said that this number does not include the traffic Yahoo has picked up after purchasing photo blogging service, Tumblr.
We can all remember the rather shocking purchase of Tumblr earlier this year for a staggering $1.1 billion.
At a technology conference in San Francisco yesterday, Mayer herself told reporters about Yahoo‘s tremendous increase in users. And, of course, it was obvious that her influence at the company has been solely positive.
Since the fearless female took control of Yahoo, their stock has just about doubled. However, analysts, along with Mayer herself, attribute this mammoth growth primarily to the company‘s holdings in China‘s Alibaba Group.
Mayer‘s contribution to Yahoo is proving to be invaluable. This is one sister doing it for herself!
