Cape Town based startup, Zapacab partners with HumanIPO

Cape Town based startup, Zapacab, has recently announced its partnership with HumanIPO Academy. The launch event that will be taking place tonight (Friday) will provide guests with an opportunity to test drive the service for the first time.

Zapacab is a new mobile taxi hailing service that will surely help Capetonians get around much easier, in a city that is currently lacking in fully integrated public transport system.
Alternative group dating site, Weaver Social Club, will also be involved in the launch. Weaver has teamed up with HumanIPO to offer one attendee of the event a free “œWeaver“.
The launch event will kick-off at 5:30pm at The Woodstock Exchange in Woodstock, Cape Town.
From 8:30pm to 9:30pm, three Zapacab taxi‘s will be reserved outside the Woodstock Exchange. Zapacab will also be manning a tablet station to help guests use the taxi hailing mobisite for the first time.
The event will also feature short, three minute flashtalks from various people involved in the new partnership.
Speakers include Tom Jackson, the managing editor of HumanIPO, Dylan Kohlstadt, the founder of ShiftOne marketing agency and Marian Shinn, the shadow minister of communications for the Democratic Alliance.
It seems that all involved in this exciting new venture are positive about the partnership. Rupert Sully, the founder of Zapacab said: “œWe like the fact HumanIPO speak to a lot of startups in South Africa and for us the tech community is really important to get feedback from, especially from a product perspective.“
Tom Jackson of HumanIPO said, “œWe are launching HumanIPO Academy to provide South African startups with a physical platform from which to promote themselves to investors and users, in much the same way as HumanIPO.com does online.”
He also said that partnering with startups is central to what HumanIPO hopes to achieve with the event series.
Weaver Social Club‘s founder, Andrew Lynch, reiterated what both Zapacab and HumanIPO had to say, “œI am really passionate about building a community of like-minded entrepreneurs and investors in South Africa and hopefully HumanIPO will be able to add to that.“
This truly is a great initiative that will, no doubt, have a positive effect on startups in South Africa, giving them the support, resources and connections they need to succeed.
