Cell C to undergo R200 million expansion

According to HumanIPO, Cell C has announced that it will be conducting a R200 million expansion in Gauteng.
The decision for the hefty upgrade comes after Cell C recently explained that its notorious signal issues were as a result of its dependency on Vodacom as well as the fact that its network traffic has doubled over the past year with Pretoria and Johannesburg particularly “taking strain”, says its CEO, Alan Knott-Craig.
Cell C currently has a roaming agreement with Vodacom, that lets its subscribers connect to the rival network when they find themselves in an area out of Cell C coverage range. Not ideal.
The upgrade then aims to both improve its coverage in the province and allow Cell C to become less dependent on Vodacom.
The expansion includes the construction of 100 additional sites in Gauteng over the next three months, with Johannesburg already having 959 which is now clear, are not enough.
