Nigerian online shopping site, Konga.com, has recently celebrated reaching 500, 000 Likes on its Facebook page from just 2, 000 one year ago. This is quite an achievement, when you compare the figure to Zando South Africa’s 170, 000 Likes on the social network.
It’s Facebook page is also the first that is owned by an e-commerce site to be verified in Africa.
Konga.com, founded in July 2012, supplies a variety of products including clothing, accessories, stationery, books, toys and electronics for which it recently began offering its Price Match Guarantee. The guarantee promises to match the prices of all electronics in any online shop in Nigeria within 48 hours, whereupon the customer will be refunded the difference in price if a cheaper item is found, reported Tech Loy.
Of the Facebook milestone, Konga wrote, “œWe say a big thank you to every shopper, blogger, journalist, and to all Nigerians that have been a part of our Journey so far.“
Konga CEO Sim Shagaya, recently said that the business has and always will be committed to supporting Nigeria‘s online business of buying and selling in a country where over 160 million potential buyers are looking for a well-structured retail space where there are few shopping malls and a poor public transportation system.
This is especially significant in Africa’s most populated country with the continent’s second biggest economy.
According to website ranking site, Alexa, Konga – Nigeria’s largest online shopping mall – comes in at number 23 in the list of top websites visited in Nigeria and in the top 15 in Africa.
