Cybersmart launches Web Based Video Surveillance

As most businesses in the world are moving everything onto web based services and cloud computing, it should come as no surprise that security and surveillance businesses would surely follow suit.

Cybersmart – a hosting company established in 1998, has officially launched their latest product; a new, web based video surveillance solution know as MVaaS (Managed Video as a Service)
This innovative service aims to provide residential customers as well as businesses with surveillance services.
CEO of Cybersmart, Laurie Fialkov, said that their service differs greatly from the more traditional CCTV services, as theirs operates by using cloud computing.
The MVaaS manages and stores video content in the cloud by using IP cameras to record any activity in the area where the camera is installed.
This new services certainly is a step in the right direction when it comes to all round security.
As Fialkov explained, the actual video recorder is not on the site. This means that criminals cannot steal the camera and equipment and then get rid of the recorded evidence.
Another handy feature with this service, is that apps are available for iPhone and Android users so they can monitor the live or recorded stream.
The Cybersmart IP video surveillance service is available in 3 options: a one day recording, 14-day recording or a month (30-day) recording.
Obviously, the service will cost less for existing Cybersmart customers, with prices ranging between R125 – R150 per month.
If you aren‘t with Cybersmart however, you‘re going to have to pay a little bit extra. Prices for non-Cybersmart customers range between R149-R295 per month.
This new service might be exactly what we need in South Africa –  providing a clever way to outsmart any would-be criminals by keeping a watchful eye.
