The C.24 wireless music keyboard for iPad

This is the C.24, a two octive wireless music keyboard for iPad that also functions as a protective cover with a magnetic latch.
Designed by San Francisco based Miselu that develops music interfaces and instruments to enhance the musical experience through the use of the iPad, the project has already raised over $60, 000 from supportive backers on Kickstarter.
Founder and CEO of Miselu, Yoshinari Yoshikawa, had a vision for bringing physical interfaces to virtual instruments and the team decided that while the iPad was that instrumental tool, the interfaces were not being developed for it.

Once removed from the magnetic latch, the iPad then slots into the keyboard and pairs with Bluetooth low energy that can be used with 100’s of iOS apps. The use of anti-polarity magnets (as seen above), rather than springs, creates the semi-weighted feel of the keyboard and allows for extended longevity and reliability.
According to Miselu, the team “designed an open standard for hardware expansion modules” and so controls such as knobs, faders and XY pads will be available in the future.
