As Facebook’s user base and company grows, the social network has been granted permission by Menlo Park to build a second campus, reports Mercury News.
Facebook’s plans were granted after a 4-0 vote by the city council upon which Mayor Peter Ohtaki congratulated the company and offered a quip of “Where’s the ‘Like’ button?” to mark the occasion.
The 22 acre campus will feature a 433,555-square-foot building with a rooftop park designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry known for the Guggenheim Museum in Bilboa and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. However, it will remain ‘low key’ according to the report.
According to an associate city planner, the offices will be built above a surface-level parking lot and at 45 feet high, some parts will rise up to 73 feet high making it look almost like a hillside covered in landscaping and of course the rooftop park complete with oak trees.
